50 Red Bins – The Starting Signal

The first 50 red Wachswandel collection bins

There are images you never forget. One of them: 50 red collection bins, lined up in the front yard. Fifty 240-liter containers in bright red, freshly delivered and ready for deployment.

Why Red?

Red stands out. In a world full of gray, yellow, and blue bins, our collection bin catches the eye. When someone walks past a supermarket, a café, or a church and spots a red bin, their gaze lingers. And that's exactly what we want: attention for a topic most people don't even have on their radar yet.

From the Front Yard to the Region

In the following weeks, we personally delivered each and every bin. To EDEKA supermarkets, church communities, restaurants, and zero-waste shops. Every conversation was different, but one reaction always came: That exists? What a great idea!

Today, over 50 collection points stand across the region – and every single one started with one of those red bins from the front yard.
