Behind Wachswandel are four people with different strengths but a shared conviction: that something valuable can emerge from what others throw away.
John Pierre Ackermann – The Doer
John Pierre is the heart of Wachswandel. He came up with the idea, set up the first collection bins, and built the workshop from scratch. Whenever a bin is full, a new partner is won, or a candle needs pouring – John Pierre is there.
Janina Schäfer – The Organizer
Janina holds everything together. As managing director of Wachswandel UG, she takes care of everything a young company needs to keep running: finances, contracts, authorities, and strategic direction.
Maren Klein – The Creative
Maren brings color to the wax. She develops new candle designs, handles product presentation, and ensures that recycled wax becomes products you'd love to give as gifts.
Philipp Ackermann – The Digital One
Philipp is responsible for all of Wachswandel's digital infrastructure: from the website to the partner portal to the operational dashboard. He designed and developed the systems that help us work efficiently and at scale.
