Every company has an origin story. Ours begins in December 2024 with a simple observation: after the Advent season, millions of candle remnants end up in the trash. Burned-down stumps, half-full tealights, candles with a broken wick – all wax that still has value.
The Question That Changed Everything
What if you could collect this wax, sort it, and turn it into new candles? Not on a small scale, but as a real business model? And what if part of the proceeds went to social projects?
That's how Wachswandel was born. Not at a desk, but in the kitchen. Between melted wax, improvised molds, and the conviction that sustainability and social engagement don't have to be contradictions.
Nothing Like It Since the Invention of the Candle
Sounds bold? Maybe. But the fact is: there is no company in Germany that recycles candle wax at scale. Candles are manufactured, burned, thrown away. A circular system didn't exist – until now.
Wachswandel – because what was light should remain light.
The founding of Wachswandel UG was the official starting signal. But the real beginning was the moment we decided to truly give it a try. A lot has happened since then – and this is only the beginning.
